Introducing kill9: Agent-powered software development

After months of building internally, we're opening kill9 to early access. Here's what we built and why.

By kill9 team

We started kill9 because we were tired of the gap between what AI coding tools promise and what they actually deliver. Copilot helps you write code faster. But writing code was never the bottleneck — process was.

Sprint planning. Ticket grooming. Code review. Test writing. Deployment pipelines. The average feature touches a dozen tools and requires a dozen approvals before it ships. We built kill9 to automate that entire chain.

What kill9 does

You describe what needs to happen — in a sentence, a ticket, or a brief. kill9 agents take it from there: generating the PRD, writing the architecture, planning stories, coding, testing, reviewing, and opening the PR. You approve the merge.

Why now

Large language models crossed a threshold in 2025. They can now reliably plan, code, and review at a level that makes autonomous development practical — not perfect, but practical. The missing piece was orchestration: how do you coordinate multiple agents, enforce quality gates, and keep a human in the loop? That's what we built.

Early access

kill9 is available today on macOS and Linux, with Windows coming soon. The Free plan includes unlimited agents, unlimited workspaces, and BYOK model access. We're not charging for tokens — you bring your own keys.

We're a small team and we're building fast. If you want to shape what agent-driven development looks like, now is the time to join.
